Small kindness, real bills
How SwipeKind works
People post an essential bill they're short on. Other people can choose to cover it, as a gift. The money goes straight to the company that sent the bill.

If you need help
Asking for help with a bill
Post your bill
It's free. Upload your bill and tell us a little about it. You can add a short note and a photo if you like. It takes about five minutes.
We check it by hand
A real person checks every bill and your details, usually within 1 working day, before anyone else sees it.
It goes on the board
Helpers see your first name, your town, the bill type, amount and due date, and your note and photo if you added them.
Someone may cover it
If a helper covers your bill, the money goes straight from their bank to the company that sent it. Never to you, and never through us.
We let you know
We email you when it's paid. If it isn't covered by 14 days after the due date, it comes off the board and we point you to free help.
If you want to help
Covering someone's bill
Swipe the board
Each card is a real bill we've checked. Swipe right or tap ♥ to look closer, swipe left to pass. Nobody is told when you pass.
See the whole picture
Open a bill to see a copy with private details covered up, the supplier, the note and exactly what you'd pay.
Cover it
Press Cover this bill and it's held for you for 15 minutes while you pay.
Pay two things
Our 10% fee by card, then the bill itself straight from your bank to the supplier.
That's it
The person is told their bill is paid. You won't be told who they are, and they won't be told who you are.
The fee, in one line
£48.00 bill + £4.80 fee = £52.80
Helpers pay the bill plus 10%. The fee covers card fees, bill and ID checks, fraud protection and running SwipeKind, and a significant portion goes back into the Kindness Fund to pay other bills that missed out on being covered that month. You always see it before you pay.
Never to a person
Bill money goes straight from the helper's bank to the supplier, through regulated payment providers. SwipeKind never holds it, and it never goes to the person who posted the bill. That keeps everyone safe.
The Kindness Fund
A significant portion of every fee goes into the Kindness Fund. It pays bills that nobody covered on the board, longest waiting first. It can't pay every bill, so it's never guaranteed, but when it does, we'll email to say your bill has been paid.
Questions
Can I cover a direct debit amount?
Yes, if it's an eligible essential bill. The payment goes to the supplier and is taken off what's owed on the account.
Does the person ever get the money?
No. Bill money always goes straight to the supplier, using the account number on the bill as the reference.
Do I have to pay anything back?
No. Covering a bill is a gift, not a loan.
Which bills can be posted?
Energy, water, council tax, phone or broadband, and TV licence bills from £20 to £150. No credit cards, loans, buy now pay later, rent or subscriptions.
How often can I ask for help?
One bill at a time, one covered a month, and four in any 12 months. Bills that close without being covered don't count.
Why is there a fee?
It pays for card fees, checking every bill and ID by hand, fraud protection and running SwipeKind, and a significant portion goes back into the Kindness Fund to pay bills that missed out that month. It's always shown before you pay.
What if the bill payment fails?
We refund the fee automatically. Once the bill is paid, the fee can't be refunded.
Who can see my details?
Only our team sees your bill as it is, your surname, address and account number. Helpers see a covered up copy.
The details are in our terms and privacy policy.
